Chapter 19

Ivan was worrying about his relationship with Devon. He felt that he's slipping from him little by little. "I can't bear the thought of living without you Devon...." he whispered.

It was seven in the morning and Devon is having coffee when a maid gave her a white envelope. Devon opened the envelope.

Meet me at the beach, right now. Surprise number one is waiting :)

Devon smiled. She changed into a dress and flip-flops and went to the beach. There, she found Ivan. Ivan prepared a picnic blanket, with some sandwiches and fruits and drinks. "Hey," she said. "Good morning," Ivan said. She smiled at Ivan's sweet gesture. "Good morning," sabi ni Devon. "Breakfast by the beach, how lovely," Devon commented. "I'm glad you liked it," Ivan said.

What they didn't know is that James is watching from afar. He's dropping by the beach everyday, just to catch a glimpse of Devon. James smiled, seeing Devon smiling. He won't deny that he wishes to be in Ivan's place, but he felt happy seeing Devon happy. He left, leaving a single blue rose on the sand.

"Wait, I'm feeling a bit cold, can I get my cardigan first?" sabi ni Devon. "Sure," Ivan replied. Devon stood up. She was running when she stepped on a blue rose. "Huh!? Ano namang ginagawa ng isang magandang rosas dito?" she murmured and then she picked the rose up.

Ivan gave Devon another surprise the following week.

For the second week, he rented a whole theme park just for her. They rode the roller coaster, viking and other rides. Ivan even rode the carousel for her. Lastly, they rode the ferris wheel. It was romantic, seeing the lights of Australia, riding a ferris wheel and being with Ivan. "Thank you Ivan, really, thank you," Devon said. Ivan just smiled.

 Devon went home that day, feeling a bit tired. She was searching for a particular top but she couldn't find it in her closet. "Saan ko ba nalagay yun..." sabi ni Devon sa sarili. Tiningnan nya ang ilalim ng kama ng may makita syang isang pamilyar na kahon. "Naiuwi ko pala to..." Devon murmured. She opened the box. She saw some old photos of James. Stolen shots that she took when nobody was looking. A copy of their marriage certificate was inside the box, too. And also some of the pictures on their wedding day. Tears started to fall out from her eyes. "Huh, what a wedding day that was. Caught him kissing his lover at the reception..." Devon murmured once again. She started looking at the old photos, giving comments once in a while.

Little did she know that her door is ajar, and Ivan saw what she did......

The following day, the maid gave her another note.


Devon,
    let's have dinner tonight. A car will pick you up. Be ready by eight.

Devon smiled. "Another surprise eh.." she murmured.

Time passed by so quickly. Devon is wearing a white and black dress. She curled her hair and applied a light makeup. A white car picked Devon up.

They're having dinner at a famous restaurant. Devon can hear a light, sweet sound coming from a piano in the backround. "Did you like my second surprise?" Ivan asked. "Yes, thank you Ivan," Devon replied with a smile. Ivan suddenly took a deep breath. He stood up, and the waiter gave him something. Ivan kneeled in front of Devon. He took her hand and opened the little blue box that the waiter gave him. "Devon I've loved you for so long. I know that I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Do you feel the same about me? Devon, will you marry me?" Ivan asked. Devon thought for a while if she's ready to get married. Then she thought about how sweet and thoughtful and caring Ivan is, how he's always's there for her. "Yes, I'll marry you," Devon said. Ivan shouted, "Yes! She said yes!" Devon blushed. The people in the restaurant clapped and hooted.

The preparation for the wedding started immediately. Ivan is rushing their wedding plans. "I remember the last time we were planning a wedding," Kyra murmured to Lauren, but Devon heard it. "Mauunahan nyo pa kami ni Sam ah..." Lauren said. "Sorry Lo. Pero gusto kasi ni Ivan na ikasal kami agad eh," Devon said, forcing a smile. "I see..." Lauren said. Lauren's phone rings. "Sandali lang ha, sagutin ko lang tong tawag," Lauren said to her friends.

She went to the balcony. She looked at the caller ID. She was surprised to see who's callng her. "Hello," she said. "Hello Lauren. I need your and Kyra's help," Ivan said from the other line.

Hello everyone :)

Today was the last day of my exams. Thank you for wishing me luck, I hope I passed :)

Another cliff hanger :P

Ano kaya yung tulong na gusto ni Ivan mula kay Kyra at Lauren???

And kumusta naman ang balak ng DeVan na magpakasal? ;)

My mom allowed me to use the net today because I studied really hard for my exams daw :)
