Chapter 8

Three months has passed, but James and Devon's relationship remains the same. James is still with Ann. Devon started to ignore her feeling towards James. She knows that he wouldn't love her. Devon got closer with Sam and Ivan, especially Ivan. They even go out together, just the two of them. "It's just a friendly date, nothing more," Devon always says to herself. Weeks and days passed, now it's time for their wedding.

Devon is inside a room with Kyra and Lauren. A make-up artist is working on her face while a hairstylist id fixing her hair into a bun. "Kinakabahan ako," sabi ni Devon sa mga kaibigan. "Ganyan talaga pag ikakasal," sabi ni Kyra. "Sure ka na ba talaga bes?" tanong naman ni Lauren. "Oo bes. Kakayanin ko," sabi ni Devon, trying hard to smile. They heard a knock. "Can I come in?" tanong ni Ivan mula sa kabila ng pinto. "Sure," sabi ni Devon. Pumasok si Ivan. Di napigilan ng binata ang ngumiti ng makita si Devon. "You look.... beautiful," sambit ni Ivan. Nag-blush si Devon. "Thanks," sabi ni Devon. "Hey!.......................woah! Is that you Devon?" singit ni Sam. "Yeah," natatawang sabi ni Devon. "You look stunning. James will be mezmerised by his beautiful fiancee," sabi ni Sam. "I doubt it, Ann will be here, remember? You two don't look so bad yourselves," sabi ni Devon. "Hehe, thanks. But I always look dashing, it's not a big surprise," ani ni Sam. Nagtawanan ang lahat sa sinabing ito ng binata. "It's time," sambit ni Carina. "You ready future sis?" tanong ni Carina kay Devon with a smile. Tumango si Devon at nginitian si Carina.

"Woah," isip ni James ng makita si Devon. She looks very beautiful in her white Vera Wang dress. "Woah," isip ni Devon ng masilayan si James. He looked handsome in his black tuxedo. (AN: Remember Star Magic Ball?) James absent-mindedly smiled at Devon. Devon smiled back, though she was a bit surprised.

"And you may now kiss the bride," sabi ng pari. James and Devon shared a kiss. People cheered. James and Devon's mom's hugged the newly-wed couple. Their fathers smiled. Kyra and Lauren, both tearing up, hugged Devon while Sam and Ivan congratulated James. The two also hugged Devon. Ivan whispered "Good luck," on Devon's ear. "Thanks," bulong ni Devon.

Sa reception, James and Devon were forced to act sweet. They're forced to smile, to hide what they really feel. To mingle with different people.

Devon went to the backyard to get a bit of fresh air. There were too many people. She felt tired, her face stiff from smiling. She can't even find her husband. But sadly, fresh air wasn't the thing that she got when she went to the backyard. It was heartache. She saw James and Ann kissing. "So much for for better and for worse. All I get is the worse part," Devon said, while wipping her tears. She went back to the reception, smiling, but hurting inside.

"You look so serious Dev," tanong ni Devon. "I'm..... I'm not feeling well," sagot ni Devon. Ivan took her to the garden. "You okay?" tanong ni Ivan. "I'm fine now, thanks," nakangiting sambit ni Devon. "What's wrong?" alalang tanong ni Ivan. "James... I saw him kissing Ann. I don't know why, but it hurts so much," sagot ni Devon, tears threatening to fall from her beautiful eyes. Ivan wiped her tears away. "Shh.... a bride should never be sad on her wedding day. Smile, it suits you more," sabi ni Ivan. Devon smiled at Ivan's sweet words. Ivan hugs Devon. James caught them on that position. He doesn't know why, but his fist curled in anger, seeing Devon with another guy. "What the hell am I doing? I love Ann, I shouldn't be angry," isip ni James at bumalik na sya sa reception.
