Chapter 11

James entered Devon's room. Enrique didn't found out that they sleep in differeny rooms. Devon looked so peaceful. James smiled and went to his room.

James woke up when a tiny finger poked his cheek. "Huh?" James murmured when he saw a little version of Devon. "I must be dreaming...." bulong ni James sa sarili."Sophie! Sophie! Baby!!" James heard. It was Devon's voice. "Mama, I'm here!" sigaw ng bata. "Baby!? Mama!? What the hell is going on?" isip ni James. "Baby! I was looking everywhere for you!" sabi ni Devon sa bata. "I'm so sorry mama. It won't happen again," sabi ng bata, halata ang lungkot sa mukha. "I was shouting like a lunatic! Don't ever do that again to mama. You know how much I love you baby," sabi ni Devon. Sophie kissed Devon's cheek.

Napatingin si Devon kay James. "I...I'm so sorry. Did she disturbed you?" tanong ni Devon. "Who is she?" James asked, ignoring her question. "She's Sophie, Enrique's daughter," sagot ni Devon. "Mama, who is he?" Sophie asked. "He's uncle James," nakangiting sagot ni Devon. Sophie looked at James and gave him a sweet smile. "She looks like Devon," James murmured. "Mama, is uncle James a friend of Papa?" Sophie asked. "Papa. He's talking about Enrique," James thought. He feels uneasy because Sophie is calling Devon 'mama'. "Yes baby...." Devon said, kissing the girl's cheeks, making the little girl giggle. "Come on baby, we shouldn't bother uncle James. And papa is probably looking for you," sabi ni Devon sa bata. "I'm sorry again James," then lumabas na si Sophie at Devon.

Sophie was born and raised in America. But she and her father moved back to the Phillipines when she was five. She can speak Tagalog and English fluently. She's now six years old. She has never met her mother. Her mother left her and her father after giving birth to Sophie. She treats Devon, her father's friend, as her real mother.

James went downstairs and stiffened at the sight before him. Enrique and Devon are playing with Sophie. They looked like one big family. "Uncle James!!" Sophie said. "Uncle James, play with me?" Sophie asked. "Sure," James said smiling. Devon was surprised at James answer.

"Sophie never met her mother. She.... she left Sophie with me after she gave birth, and I never saw her after that. Devon and I are glad that she knew Devon is not her real mother despite her young age. But she still treats Devon as her real mother. And I'm grateful to Devon because she's treating my daughter as her own," Enrique said to James once they had the chance to talk. James had fun playing with Sophie, a thing he didn't expect. He used to hate kids. But he felt at ease with Sophie. Maybe because he looks like Devon.

*flashback*
He carried Sophie on his shoulders. He tickled the little girl. Then his eyes met Devon's. She smiled at him. He stiffened, wondering if she really smiled at him.
*end of flashback*

"You're so lucky to have her. I'm sure you're future kids will be lucky to have her as you're mom," Enrique said. "Yeah..." was James answer. He used to hate kids, and as far as he know, Ann hates kids too. "Papa! Join us!" Sophie said, giggling. "Sure, sweetie," sabi ni Enrique. James sat there, thinking about family. What if.... what if he become a dad? But there's something wrong with the picture in his head. Because instead of Ann, he saw Devon as the mother of his children inside his head.

James was resting inside his room when he heard a knock. Devon opened the door. "Quen lest already. He was in a hurry. He said thank you for letting him stay here. And I just let Sophie spend some days here, since Quen can't look after her at his convention," Devon informed James. "I'm going out," James said coldly. And off he went to see Ann.

James and Ann were in a middle of a kiss when James suddenly asked, "Ann, what do you think of having our own family?" Ann looked confused. "James, what's with the sudden topic? And I know you hate kids....." Ann said. "Nothing," and they went back to what they were doing.

He went back at the mansion at midnight. When he went to check on Devon, he found out that Sophie was sleeping beside her. He wondered, if he's gonna have a family of his own, would this scene infront of him would always greet him when he got home? He just smiled at the thought.
