Chapter 6

Ann and James entered the Ice Cream Shop. "What the......" James said, shocked. Sam and Ivan caught James' sight. They are laughing and having fun with Devon and her friends. Ann looked at the direction that James is staring at. "So.... I guess that's Devon huh? Already having an affair with your friends?" Ann asked in a high pitched voice. "I don't give a damn," he murmured. James ordered ice creams for him and Ann. They found no available table. Ann suddenly let go of James' hand and went to Devon's table. "Van! Sam!" she said and kissed their cheeks. "There's no available table, can me and James sit with you guys?" Ann asked sweetly. "Uhh....." Ivan hesitated, taking a side glance to Devon. Devon felt Ivan's gaze. She smiled at him. She nodded a bit. Ivan understood. "Sure," sabi ni Ivan. Ann went to James and pulled his hand. "Come on. I found a seat," sabi ni Ann. James didn't say anything. Ann sat opposite Devon's seat, James seating beside Ann. "Hi! I'm Ann. James' girlfriend. You must be Devon, his fiancee," Ann said with a smirk. "Yeah. That's me," sabi ni Devon with an awkward smile. "Bessie, gusto mo upakan ko? Bruhilda eh," sabi ni Kyra. Ngumiti lang si Devon　sa sinabi ng kaibigan. "What did you said?" Ann asked Kyra. "Ah, don't mind me. I'm Kyra by the way. And that's Lauren. We're Devon's BEST FRIENDS," Kyra said, emphasizing on the words 'best friends'. "Nice to meet you two," sabi ni Ann. "Same here," sabi nina Kyra at Lauren ng sabay, fake smiles plastered on their faces. Biglang nagkaroon ng awkward silence. Nang biglang nagsalita si Sam, "You three should come to our concert this friday." Ivan smiled. "Concert?" tanong ni Lauren. "Yeah. Me, James and Sam are in a band with another friend. We're performing on the school's auditorium. I hope you guys could come," sabi ni Ivan. "Sure. We're free this friday," sabi ni Kyra. "Great! We'll save you guys seats in front," sabi ni Sam. Kyra, Devon, Lauren, Sam and Ivan finished their ice-creams. "Bessie, we should find another charm for our friendhip bracelet," Lauren said. "You guys have charm bracelets?" Ann said with a raised eyebrow. "Yeah. It's our friendship bracelet," sabi ni Kyra sabay pakita sa bracelet. This is the first charm, the first letter of our names. Then this cross charm, we got this one when we visited Jerusalem," explain ni Lauren. "Then this one, we got when we went to Singapore, this one in US, this one in France. And this one we bought last year, in celebration of our 18th birthday," sabi naman ni Kyra. "We should definitely buy another charm. Well, we better go ahead. See you guys around," sabi ni Lauren. The others bid goodbye to James and Ann. When only Ann and James were left at the table, Ann asked James, "Why are you so quiet?" James shrugged. "I don't have anything to say, I guess," ang tanging nasabi ng binata.

"Whew, what an awkward situation," sabi ni Lauren. "I totally agree. Wait, I have a question , do you guys like Ann, as a friend I mean," Kyra asked Ivan and Sam. "We're not friends with her," tipid na sagot ni Ivan. "We were never close. Yeah, she's James' girlfriend, but we don't hang out much. Truth to be told, we're annoyed at her. She's always popping out of nowhere," sagot ni Sam. "I don't like her that much. There's something about her... there's this... suspicious aura about her that I really don't like," sabi ni Lauren. "That came from you Lo, the nicest one in us three!!" gulat na sabi ni Kyra. "Hey! She seems nice," sabi naman ni Devon. "Devon, you're too naive girl," sabi ni Kyra. "Let's stop this conversation guys. We should concentrate on finding a cute charm for our bracelet," sabi ni Lauren.

The three found a silver panda charm that looks good with their silver bracelet. The five went shopping, well, the three girls shopped while Ivan and Sam carried their bags. They also went to the arcade. They also took pictures using the camera that Lauren brought. They felt at ease with each other.

"We should do this again sometime," sabi ni Lauren. "Totally! You guys are seriously fun to be with. Crazy people, like us three," sabi ni Kyra. "Sure! Maybe next week?" tanong ni Sam. "How about.. Saturday?" sabi ni Devon. "Saturday it is," sagot naman ni Ivan. "Well, see you guys at school," sabi ni Kyra. They bid goodbye to each other and went home.

Devon arrived at the condo. She saw James, waiting for her. "What are you doing with my friends?" masungit na tanong ng binata. "We saw each other on the mall, then we hang out. That's all," sabi ni Devon, medyo may takot sa binata. "Don't you dare hang-out with them again. Don't talk to them, don't even think about them. They're my friends, my social circle, not yours! You tried to take my life away from me, now my friends!?" sigaw ni James kay Devon. Nasaktan si Devon. Wala na lang syang imik. Pumasok si James sa kwarto, at binagsak nya ang pinto. Dahil sa pagkabigla, di na namalayan ni Devon ang mga luhang tumutulo mula sa mga mata nya.
